I was one of those typical people. You know, the ones who find a photographer they love, stress over what to wear on the day of the engagement session, don’t know what to do with their hands, and leave the session happy, but with that small feeling in the back of their head that says, “I hope I like the photos”.

As a photographer, I like being behind the camera not only because I love showing people the amazingness that I see in them, but also because I feel awkward in front of the camera, and if I’m really telling the truth, it’s rare for me to LOVE a photo of myself.

But these engagement photos, taken by Sarah Deragon of Portraits to the People, have made me see things differently. When you find the right photographer, one who “gets you” and sees the “real you”, magic happens. And Sarah created magic in these photos of us. These photos are perfectly us, and we look damn good, if I do say so myself!

Here are just a few photos from our engagement session. I won’t say they’re my favorites, because they were all my favorite!
