It was about a year and a half ago… I attended a photography event in North Beach all alone, hoping to expand my photography knowledge and meet a friendly new face. Danielle also attended alone, hoping the same.
About a month later we met for a drink and I agreed to help her shoot a wedding that summer. She knew I had little wedding photography experience, but took a chance on me anyway. And one wedding turned into a bunch more.
It was in between snapping bride/groom getting ready photos, first looks and the 15 minutes us wedding photographers get to eat our meals before the toasts begin, that we got to know each other. And since David helped with the photobooth, I got to know them both individually and as a couple. It was only a matter of time that my partner and I began having date nights with them… sharing our stories, love for food, and laughter. From that chance meeting a year and a half ago, I gained more than I had ever hoped… a friendship with one of the sweetest (and hottest) couples I know.
Last weekend we got together for another date day, but before our fabulous dinner at their favorite Italian restaurant, I snapped their engagement photos at Sutro Baths and in the alley outside of their apartment, which is also the place where David proposed. (I will never forget the funny gif texts I received from Danielle the morning after they got engaged!)
D&D, I hope you two know how much you mean to Shimina & I. We are excited to share in this special time of your lives with you and are so excited for your big day! In the meantime, we’re looking forward to our next date night! Love you bunches!!
