While most of my family is in California, a few of them are in the midwest. And although I’ve never gotten used to the distance, it’s even harder now that our family is growing. Thankfully, social media and photo texts makes the distance seem closer.

But what’s better than photo texts?!

A couple weeks ago, Alaynne and Baby Emmett escaped the midwest snow for some California sun. And with the help of my sister Malenda’s son, Lorenzo, who is now a pro at getting in front of my camera (I mean, have you looked at my Instagram lately?), Baby Emmett survived his first photoshoot with Tia Cristal. I couldn’t be happier to get my nephews in front of my camera, as well as capture some images of my Alaynne and Malenda as new mothers.

Family is everything to me, and nothing is more beautiful than watching it grow.
